Dirty Martini Time

Roosevelt, Bond and your's truly cant refuse this classic, perfectly balanced with our favourite olive juice...

What better to do on a weekend? Make like a bartender and mix up a Dirty Martini

🍸 YES PLEASE.

Have you always wondered what makes a 'dirty' martini? The term 'dirty' means that olive brine has been added to the drink. An olive garnish is typically assumed, too.

Most recipes add equal parts vermouth and brine, though you can specify 'extra dirty' or 'filthy' if you prefer more brine. And of course - we love MORE OLIVE BRINE 💃there's more to Olive Brine than you think!

Go on try one ... I know you want to🍸

Ingredients;

4-6 Olive Envy pitted Sicilian green olives

25ml Olive Envy Dirty Martini Mix

150ml Dry gin (we love the @noosagin‘Fortune' Signature Dry Gin)

25ml dry vermouth (try an Aussie fave @regalrogue)

STEP 1

Put two martini glasses in the fridge to chill. Thread the olives onto two cocktail sticks and set aside.

STEP 2

Fill a jug or mixing glass with the ice, then pour in the gin, vermouth and olive brine. Stir until the outside of the jug feels cold. Taste to make sure that it's icy cold and that you’re happy with the dilution.

STEP 3

Strain the mix into the chilled glasses and garnish with the olive skewers.

STEP 4

Drink up 🍸

Fun Fact - The Dirty Martini is believed to have originated in 1901, when New York bartender John O'Connor found inspiration in the classic's famous olive garnish. First made by muddling the olive into the drink, and later by adding a splash of olive brine, the Dirty Martini took decades to reach a wide fan base!

How do you like your Martini ? Share your favourite variations so we can try them too 🔥
